TrAnsforming Education, Embracing Diversity – BridgeAI 🌍
From April 7th to 11th, 2025, teachers from across Europe gathered in Gran Canaria, Spain 🇪🇸 for an exciting Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity focused on AI concepts 🤖. The event brought together educators from partner countries to explore innovative ways to integrate Artificial Intelligence into their teaching practices and curricula.
The adventure started with a warm welcome and a project coordination meeting, where we discussed the upcoming activities and set the stage for the exciting things ahead 🎯. From there, the training kicked off at CEIP León y Castillo, where participants rolled up their sleeves and dove into the world of AI through practical, hands-on training sessions 💻. They came prepared with their devices and explored new AI tools that can enhance their teaching methods and empower students.
But it wasn’t all work! After each insightful session, participants had the chance to unwind and explore the island 🌴. They visited the incredible Poema del Mar Aquarium and the Science Museum, while also enjoying a traditional Canarian dinner at Bodegón el Biberón 🥘 – a perfect blend of learning and local culture!
On Thursday, the excitement continued at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where teachers attended the II Jornadas Educativas Canarias Plurilingüe e Intercultural. The session on AI and Language Teaching by Dr. Fernando Trujillo opened new perspectives on the challenges and possibilities of incorporating AI into the classroom 🧑🏫.
To top it off, we explored the rich cultural heritage of the old city of Las Palmas with a guided tour 🏰, learning about the history and beauty of the island while using sustainable transport.
This week was truly a perfect mix of AI education, cultural exchange, and sustainability 🌱.
