As part of the Erasmus+ project “On the P@ths of Culinary Traditions” (PCT), the French partner Skillslab21 organized three local webinars in July and August 2024, to disseminate the results of this initiative dedicated to preserving European culinary traditions. These events raised awareness among participants, from teachers to food heritage enthusiasts, while strengthening the impact of this project at the local level.
Three topics were discussed:
Topic 1: The richness of European culinary traditions
The first topic invited participants to discover the various culinary traditions of the project’s partner countries: Poland, Turkey and France. Skillslab21 highlighted research on local cooking practices, with presentations on ingredients and techniques specific to each culture. This topic highlighted how preserving culinary traditions contributes to a sustainable approach to food and the transmission of local know-how.
Topic 2: Educational integration of culinary traditions
The second topic focused on integrating culinary traditions into education. Skillslab21 presented educational tools developed under the PCT project, aimed at helping French teachers to include this knowledge in their courses. The interactive resources and culinary heritage awareness activities were well received by participants, who expressed a strong interest in incorporating these practices into local schools.
Topic 3: Innovation and conservation perspectives
Finally, the third topic explored innovation and preservation of culinary traditions in a modern context. Skillslab21 led a debate on how digitisation and culinary tourism can play a role in preserving these practices.
Webinars ended with a commitment message to extend the impact of the project.
