SmartVET: Industrial 4.0 & AI-Driven Manufacturing
The Erasmus+ Project SmartVET aims to accelerate the digital transformation of vocational education by integrating Industry 4.0 technologies into teaching and training. The project equips both students and teachers with practical skills in automation, PLC systems, IoT-based production, and CNC technologies, ensuring stronger alignment between VET institutions and the modern industrial sector.
This project focuses on:
-
Modernising VET curricula through up-to-date, industry-aligned training modules.
-
Enhancing learners’ technical competencies in smart production, data analytics, and automation.
-
Strengthening teachers’ digital pedagogical skills for effective use of IoT, PLC, and CNC learning tools.
-
Building stronger cooperation between VET and industry, increasing access to internships and real-world practice.
-
Supporting sustainable digital transformation by sharing open-source training materials across the Erasmus+ network.
The outputs of the project:
-
A complete SmartVET training package with three modules: PLC, IoT, and CNC technologies.
-
Digital training manuals and professional development resources for teachers.
-
Applied learning projects co-developed with industrial partners.
-
Open-source learning materials accessible through Erasmus+ platforms.
-
Improved internship and employability opportunities for students through stronger education-industry links.
SmartVET adopts an applied learning methodology, combining classroom instruction with simulations, practical projects, and field activities in real production environments. By doing so, the project not only modernises VET in partner countries but also provides a scalable model for digital transformation in vocational education across Europe.
